*** FTP MAINTENANCE *** ftp.shekinya.net on April 27, 2013

All FTP Users,

I will be performing some maintenance on the FTP server Saturday, April 27th. There will be a brief outage while I attempt to integrate this server to use Kerberos/NTML Authentication (Active Directory) as opposed to PAM. This will change how you logon to the server. Instead of using PAM authentication on Linux, you’ll be using Kerberos for authentication (on Windows Server). This shouldn’t impact any users when they login; when I create a Windows user and Linux user (passwd, smbpasswd), I use the same password for each. The problem will be when I need to re-$HOME everyone’s user directories.

OUTAGE: shekinya.net and other public sites will be offline. I am migrating all public websites to my Linux Apache Server. The Intranet site will remain in its current location.

OUTAGE: Exchange Server (E-mail) offline and websites offline. Testing new Domain Controller replication and FSMO roles with main DC down.

OUTAGE: For those using OWA or SMTP on my server. They are both down. I am changing the port settings on the router and reconfiguring IIS.
