A lot has changed in the mobility industry and mobility conference space since SUMC launched our annual National Shared Mobility Summit. That’s why we’re reimagining our annual Summit–to ensure our events and convenings are as insightful and valuable as the first time we brought the sector together. This involves gathering insights from our community through this survey. Your input on the current value, missing elements, and pain points of large events will help inform future SUMC convenings. We appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey and helping us enhance your experience at SUMC events! This survey should take about 5 minutes to complete. Thank you!

For Californians, 2023 was yet another year spent sitting in traffic. It was another year of tragic and preventable pedestrian deaths. But Californians don’t have to surrender to traffic-choked, dangerous streets. We already have low-cost, low-tech street safety policies that are tried and true.
In her Op-Ed for the San Francisco Chronicle, SUMC Research Analyst Miriam Pinski outlines five resolutions for California and its cities to improve streets and make neighborhoods more livable.
Five ways to reduce traffic and make California streets safer in 2024 For Californians, 2023 was yet another year spent sitting in traffic. We can do better.

Our happy hour with Young Professionals in Transportation - Chicago Chapter brought insightful conversations and great connections!
Our biggest takeaway from Studio Gang Gia Biagi and SUMC CEO Benjie de la Peña's conversation is all about looking forward.
Gia reminded us, "Equity is a verb. You're never going to 'arrive' there." And as for future projects, "Especially in moments of crisis, if you don't talk about the future, there isn't one."
If you missed this one, make sure to subscribe to our Mobility Hub newsletter to stay up-to-date on all our events: https://t.co/mrOsGQHRZf

Our Los Angeles team attended CoMotion LA 2023 last week.
The conference was an excellent opportunity to hear from a broad group of mobility experts from the US, Europe and the UK about how they are facing contemporary challenges such as planning transport for mega events, introducing AVs into the ridehailing space and the role of women leaders in transportation to make these services more equitable and accessible for everyone.
Persistent social, economic and racial inequity are shaped by how our communities are designed to prioritize cars over people. To address societal inequities, we must address the inequitable transportation systems we use.
The Shared Mobility 2030 Action Agenda Network does just this. Members of the Shared Mobility 2030 Action Agenda Network–such as Uber, City of Arlington, TX - City Hall the city of Arlington and the city of Boston–are collectively addressing racial and economic equity as part of their daily business practices, ongoing projects, company policies and more.
Learn more about the collective progress we’ve made in the past year in annual report: https://ow.ly/iSk250Q5G79
And become a member as we continue to make strides and hold each other accountable in making shared mobility the first, best transportation option within the decade.
