I'm grateful to have spent last week working with the high school girls at Chicago City Soccer Club Looking forward to helping these student-athletes dive into the college recruiting process—from researching schools and building their player profiles to learning how to confidently communicate with coaches. Excited to see where this journey takes you. 📈

Our Summer Camp Series 2026 is in the books! It was an absolute privilege to work with more than 250 gks from Chicagoland, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Colorado, as well as a few international players. What makes for a good gk session when training for cutback scenarios? Hint: it's not just working on technique!
When defending the goal from attacks down the end line, positioning for these cut back scenarios is crucial. Depending on the location of the ball and the attacking player the goalkeeper could:
-Set just outside the front post facing that player,
-Angle a bit more open to the field, or
-Position inside the post more toward the middle of the goal.
Understanding where to position yourself for each of these scenarios should be the focus of all good cutback training sessions. Stay tuned for more videos from us to explain each of these scenarios in more detail.
