The New Coordinates develop NEW ART and NEW ARTISTS in order to educate and build NEW AUDIENCES.
The New Coordinates produce brand new plays in a signature collaborative arrangement that we call The Process. We shepherd a script from the spark of an idea to a complete draft and often its world premiere. The Process begins with a treatment or rough outline from the playwright workshop, with a director and a group of actors attached to bring the characters to life. Improvised monologues and sce

This decision was not an easy one, but given the financial impact of the pandemic and the rising costs of doing business, it was time.
All remaining assets have gone toward settling accounts with artists, staff, and vendors, and all future royalties will revert to their original playwrights.
For the dozens of new plays that have incubated at TNC over the last few years, we remain incredibly proud of the work, and we will always endorse and support the playwrights who shared our space.
We will maintain an online archive to serve as a record of our work and our collaborations, and the amazing things artists achieved during our tenure.

As an institution, we are making way for whoever and whatever comes next. But new works, and the mission, live on.

Applications extended!! You now have until Sunday, Feb 26 to apply to the Spring 2023 session of the Writers' Room. Led by Artistic Director Fin Coe, the writers in this class will be given the tools to unearth their artistry using The New Coordinates’ collaborative writing process.
