Submissions for the 2017-2018 edition of Renaissance Magazine are open from now through March! This is your chance to be showcased in Lab's literature and art magazine, and be a part of 37 years' worth of creativity.
We accept all forms, mediums, genres, and types of art and literature. Additionally, a new website is in the works to feature sound recordings and videos, making Renaissance more multimedia than ever before.

We look forward to seeing (and now hearing) your masterpieces!

Applications for the 2017-2018 Renaissance Magazine Literature Board are due this Saturday, October 14. As a reminder, this is a great opportunity to improve your skills as a writer and editor, and to read the amazing work of your fellow students. Please email [email protected] if you need an application, or have any questions. And do so soon, as the application requires you to read at least one story from a previous edition of Renaissance. Dear prospective editors and writers,

Thank you for your interest in the Renaissance Literary Board! We are a group of students who read and edit creative writing submissions to be published in the annual Renaissance art and literary magazine. We’re looking for new members with an interest in literature, whether it is in reading, writing, or editing. This position is an opportunity to improve your language skills, and meet and work with other students who wish to do the same.

The application for being an editor is attached below, and we hope that many of you will choose to fill it out. Note that you do not have to fill out the application if you are only interested in submitting. Please send all completed applications to [email protected] by no later than October 14th.

For those who are interested in submitting, we highly encourage you to send in any piece you have written that you want to see published. We welcome poetry, short stories, personal narratives, essays– if you wrote it, we want to read it. Please send all submissions also to [email protected]. We will be accepting submissions up through early February.

Finally, for anybody who is interested in submitting or applying to the Art Board, please contact [email protected].

We've had a really incredible year here at Renaissance! Thanks to all the teachers, students, and members of our two boards for working to get this published. Look out for even more developments in the coming year, and of course for more creative writing and art. Summer's the perfect time to read Renaissance and get started on creating for next year's issue ;)

Hello everybody! Just so everybody knows, literary admissions for Renaissance 2017 are now CLOSED.
HOWEVER!!! If there is a piece (or pieces) that you still wish to have published in Renaissance, don't fret! We are more than willing to hold onto some for next year's publication. Please reach out if you have any questions. Otherwise, the submissions we've received have been AMAZING this year, so a huge thank you to everybody who submitted! We will be moving on to working with authors on the accepted pieces over the next few weeks.

Heyyy, look what's now up in the library for your visual consumption! (It's Renaissance magazines. If you didn't figure it out.)

If you get a chance, stop by and flip through one or two or all of them! They've all got awesome writing and artwork done by students at Lab, which is even more awesome. Take a look, and hey, if it inspires you, why not submit? 😉
