Hello 🔵 It’s official. Signed at 12:05PM. It was even on TV. Mine really turned blue. Don't forget that tomorrow starts the new Facebook rule (aka... new name, META) where they can use your photos. Don't forget the deadline is today!!!
I do not authorize META, Facebook or any entity associated with Facebook to use my photos, information, messages or posts, past or future.
With this statement, I notify Facebook that
it is strictly prohibited to disclose, copy, distribute or take any other action against me based on this profile and/or its contents. Violation of privacy may be punishable by law.
Here's how to do it:
Hold your finger anywhere in this message and “copy” will appear. Click “copy”. Then go to your page, create a new post and place your finger anywhere in the empty field. “Paste” will appear and click Paste.
This will bypass the system….
He who does nothing consents.🤞🏻
Presidents aren't immune from prosecution for crimes...duh.
Let the ketchup fly.
The video part is satisfying but the really fun part for me is the studio visit.
When can I come over?

New logo. Lynn took a mediocre idea I had and saved it from itself.

New logo. The open door was too hard to deal with for a complete graphic dunce like me.
The new one is a mediocre idea that Lynn did something really nice with.
Next week I'm shooting the last of Susan Aurinko's studio visit video. She'll be shooting Neha on the Metra tracks at sunset. It will probably be impossible to take a bad picture of them.

Checklist for your video
__Choose 3-10 images of your work. Give me highest quality digital copy of each image. Tell me the title/date/medium/size for each piece.
__Plan what you’ll say. I’ll help with this by phone. No winging it on-camera. The way I shoot, you don’t have to memorize, but you have to plan.
__Look around your studio and decide what you’d show a visitor.
__Send me links to artists’ videos that reflect the feeling you want for yours.
__Ask your commenter/critic/colleague to participate. We’ll plan what they’ll say, too. Again, no winging it.
__Set aside two hours with me and your commenter/critic/colleague. You’re ready!
Man Bartlett's video has all the elements of a good studio visit. You get to know him and what he says about his work; you see him paint; Susan Alurinko, his then-gallerist adds a different angle with her commentary; and the slides of his work are beautiful.
When I started these studio visits, I expected to hear a lot of artspeak but it's a pleasure to hear artists talk about their work in practical and emotional terms, without the opaque cant.
Chicago is dense with art practices. I'm looking forward to being surprised over and over again by the work and the people.
Introduce yourself with an interview, show yourself working and give people a glimpse of your space, with raw materials of your medium, inspiring images pinned to the wall.
Also have comments from a writer/theorist or fellow artist.
And of course, the work itself: shown in formal 'slides' with the standard label of title/date/size/medium. Four to seven minutes of video that can go everywhere video goes: Facebook, your website, playing on a loop at your opening, included in your next grant app or project proposal.
