Stable housing is one of the strongest predictors of successful reentry, yet formerly incarcerated people are nearly 10 times more likely to experience homelessness than the general population. Without a safe place to live, finding employment, accessing healthcare, and rebuilding community become even greater challenges.

Please share our September calendar with participants in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program! Our counselors are available to inform holders about the CHA Mobility Counseling Program, which enables families to use their subsidy to enhance their lives. First-time voucher recipients, current HCV participants, or families porting from other housing authorities are all eligible to participate in the CHA/HCP Mobility Counseling Program.

An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect beginning Monday, June 29 at 12 p.m. through Wednesday, July 1 at 10 p.m. Dangerous temperatures and heat index values above 100°F are expected.

Please take precautions to stay safe:

➡️Stay in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible.
➡️Limit outdoor activities during the hottest hours of the day.
➡️Wear lightweight clothing.
➡️ Check on neighbors, especially older adults, young children, and those with medical conditions.
