It’s been a rough few days for music lovers. Dexter Wansel has passes. Many won’t know his name, but they will know his music. Especially, if you loved the Philly Sound! Wansel, a keyboardist, created a number of huge hits that helped shape the sound of Philadelphia in the late 70s-early 80s. He signed with Gamble & Huff’s record label as a session musician, but he left his biggest mark as a writer, producer and arranger. He worked on songs for many including: The Jacksons, Lou Rawls, Phyllis Hyman, Teddy Pendergrass and MFSB. He also release a few albums of this own. Some of his most notable works include, “Nights Over Egypt” for the Jones Girls and “Hurry Up This Way Again” for the Stylistics, he co-wrote both. Wansel also co-wrote and co-produced Patti Labelle’s signature classic, “If Only You Knew” and he co-produced the Teddy Pendergrass smash, “Love TKO” Wansel was 75.

Champion Foods has issued a nationwide recall for select batches of “Motor City Pizza Co. 5 Cheese Bread” (⬇️ see below) due to potential Salmonella contamination. The frozen bread was sold widely across the Chicago area at major retailers including Costco, Walmart, Jewel, Target, Meijer, and Kroger.
The voluntary recall was initiated after a dry milk powder ingredient used in the cheese sauce blend was flagged for Salmonella concerns. While Champion Foods has not received any reports of illness, consumers should immediately check their freezers for the following affected batches:

• Single Packs: UPC with sell-by dates ranging from February 4, 2027, through April 21, 2027.
• Two-Packs: UPC with sell-by dates of Feb. 3, Feb. 4, Feb. 24, Feb. 25, March 10, March 11, March 18, and March 25, 2027. [1]

• Do not eat the recalled bread.
• Return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund, or safely dispose of it.
