The Henry has received a Merit Award from this year's ALA Awards.

Immediately adjacent to the Montrose Avenue Brown Line Station, The Henry sits on an irregularly shaped lot whose width is smallest at the street. Using inspiration taken from the iconic "EL" trains passing by and the surrounding light industrial and residential uses within the immediate neighborhood, the building is broken into three distinct masses clad in corrugated metal, brick, and fiber cement panels. This approach to the massing, in combination with the challenge of the lot, works to reinforce the design concept that the building appears to be a collection of smaller building, a "little village," perhaps even created over time.

This year's ALA Awards honored Latin School Play Garden with a Gold Award.

This urban school yard aligns with the principles of student collaboration and exploration at the core of the Latin School. Designed in collaboration with Michelle Sakayan, it's organized as a series of scenes throughout a free flowing environment that allow children to construct their own learning through play and exchange with each other and teachers. In this context the environment is the third teacher, serving to inspire and encourage children to delve deeper and deeper into their interests.

LATIN SCHOOL PLAY GARDEN — Level Incorporated This play garden, occupying the grounds of a former mansion, follows Reggio Emilia principles, an approach towards early childhood education that encourages children to construct their own learning through play and exchange with each other, as well as the teacher.

We have been featured by the Association of Licensed Architect's magazine. The spread includes multiple projects, representing different types and locations to give a broad overview of our practice.
