HOWLS FROM THE WOLK PACK: Worth Howling About

Shout out to Ms. King for amplifying scholar voice and thinking by providing meaningful opportunities for engagement and participation. Scholars are encouraged to use academic vocabulary and their Habits of Discussion to explain their thinking and strengthen their comprehension of the content.

HOWLS FROM THE WOLF PACK: Worth Howling About

Shout out to Ms. Gonzalez for reviewing scholars’ goals with them so they are prepared for the academic journey ahead. When scholars begin with the end in mind, they understand where they are, where they need to go, and how they need to get there.

HOWLS FROM THE WOLF PACK: Worth Howling About

Shout out to Ms. Morris for creating authentic opportunities for scholars to practice and improve their reading fluency. We know that the best way to become a better reader is to read, and Ms. Morris is using reading to help strengthen scholars’ decoding, expression, and overall oracy.

HOWLS FROM THE WOLF PACK: Catalyst Leader Selected to Present at Raising Student Achievement Conference!

Catalyst is proud to celebrate Catalyst Maria High School Assistant Principal Teeshawn Jones, who has been selected to present at the upcoming Raising Student Achievement Conference!

Mrs. Jones will lead the session, “You Have to Reach Them Before You Teach Them: Addressing Trauma Before Academics,” sharing practical, trauma-informed strategies for supporting scholars whose experiences with chronic stress and trauma can impact their ability to engage in learning. Drawing on the power of relationships, predictable routines, and emotional regulation, she will help educators explore how creating classrooms where scholar feel safe, seen, and supported is foundational to academic success.

Her selection as a conference presenter is a meaningful recognition of the leadership and expertise she brings to Catalyst, and an opportunity for her to share that work with educators beyond our network! We are honored to work alongside you Mrs. Jones!

HOWLS FROM THE WOLF PACK: 🐺🗣️ Every language is a strength. Every voice belongs!

Our Title I Family Lotería Night brought families together for games, connection, and learning! Together, we explored translanguaging—how scholars use all their languages and dialects, including Spanish, English, and African American Vernacular English, to build understanding and express their ideas.

Our theme, “Howling for Justice: One Pack, Many Languages,” comes to life when we honor the language and culture each family brings to our community. Rooted in our Lasallian commitment to dignity and inclusion, we’re nurturing global Lasallian leaders who value their own voices and the voices of others. ❤️🌎

Thank you, families, for being our partners in teaching minds and touching hearts!
