Sunshine Activity Center

We had a dream and we made it come true. We provided respite to families and participants for 32 years. We helped students complete their service hours. We helped those that needed Community Service. Throughout the years we provided service to over 125 individuals and their families. Although our doors are now closed I feel that Diane and I did our best. The Lord is taking us down another path. I'm unsure where the path will lead but i have faith. Today was difficult as we watched the building empty out and the tears flow. Everyone worked so hard and I want to thank each and every person. Thank you to Del Williamson, Judy Yracheta, John Yracheta, Chester Klepacz, Jose Martinez, Mary Ogrodowski-Sparks, Brian Sparks, Alex Hoff, Sandy Eden, Lee Deering, Jim Naughton, Colleen DePau, Brian DePau, Kevin DePau, John Lesch, Marilyn Lesch, Dennis Ash and of course Diane Gunaka!

It is with great sadness that Sunshine Activity Center will be closing their doors on Friday September 29, 2017 due to lack of funding. Sunshine Center lost their contact with the State in 2015. We are proud that we provided service for 32 years to adults with developmental disabilities.

Sunshine will be selling off all kitchen equipment, office furniture, desks, file cabinets, bookshelves, toys, puzzles, commercial shelving units, lap top computers, power tools, hand tools and much more. Cash and carry!

The sale will take place October 9th through October 13th from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm

What a wonderful and special day we had today. Alicia Mariani Cinfio and Dan Cinfio and Gina Cinfio treated everyone to a Chinese dinner! Everyone was so happy and most of all grateful! Thank you so much!

Hello Friends of Sunshine!
We are at a very difficult time and we are taking out to our friends. The State of Illinois canceled our contact in 2015. Since then we continue to provide Enrichment programs for our participants.

We offer a sit down home made dinner every evening. We are feeding between 20 and 22 adults every night. Our funds are depleting and we are asking for your help.

If you can donate ground beef or chicken we can create many different menus with these items. We are asking for fruit or potatoes or pinto beans and ham.
