Pardes Gaya
With every journey away from oneโ€™s homeland, stories of longing and displacement find a voice through the poignant words of Mahmoud Darwish and Reza Mohammadi. In an era where forced displacement has become a harsh reality for many, their verses echo the silent sacrifices and untold hardships faced daily by refugees.

75% of our current residents are people that have been displaced because of genocide.

Displacement is not just an after effect it is a very intentional means of conducting genocide. Furthermore, putting displaced people into situations where there isnโ€™t safety for them is perpetuating genocide further. When people are displaced from their land and there are no safety nets, people are put into unlivable situations of homelessness, food insecurity and danger.

We at Finding Refuge have made it our mission to support people at this crucial stage, where having a place to stay, food, and safety are imperative for people to heal from the horrors of genocide. Please consider donating to us as the holiday season approaches. We are receiving applications from people displaced from Gaza and Congo and need your help to be able to provide them with the aid they need.

For 70 days we have seen the unrelenting genocide on the people of Gaza with over 20,000 people martyred and 2.2 million people displaced by the settler colony of israel. Now more than ever, we cannot stop talking about Gaza. We cannot stop talking about a free Palestine. Palestine is a beacon of hope to global struggles against oppression. Refaat Alareer, the beloved poet, writer, and scholar, who was martyred last week in Gaza wrote in a poem 'If I must die you must live to tell my story.. If I must die, let it bring hope, let it be a tale."

With the millions displaced in Gaza and the millions more displaced all around the world, Refaatโ€™s word ring the most true to refugees. They are people who have lived despite all the odds stacked against them, all the oppressive forces that have tried to take them out, all the pain of loosing loved ones, leaving behind family. They must live to tell the story of their people, their land, the cause that is worth dying and living for. We must lift them up and support them once they arrive at borders because the tales of Refaat Alareer and all the souls we have lost teach life.
