Here’s how I turned a tiny painting I made a year ago into my widest painting ever.

At long last, here’s how my widest painting to be, all because of my smallest painting.
Last year, I made two extremely small paintings of Oak St. Beach and the Chicago Skyline based off of a photo I took. Fast forward to this year and I get a message asking if I could make the same composition, but bigger! So, to reacquaint myself with this and how it would translate scaled up, I did some warm up paintings.
Which all lead up to the final painting that measured 6”x30”. A truly unique size! Swipe thru for the rest of this painting…

Happy and excited to share the first of my neon sign watercolor series… Neon is pretty tricky to paint, it’s a bit of an ugly process, but it’s so satisfying to see it all come together.
