NASCAR. Bubba Wallace. Lupe Fiasco.

We’ll have live pit stops, NASCAR iRacing simulators, and a food truck village serving up local bites. The evening is meant for ALL ages and will have activities for children ages 4 and up.

Bubba Wallace has been the only full-time African American driver in NASCAR's three national series each year he has competed in them. He is the only African American driver to win more than once in any of these series, which has made him one of the most successful African American drivers in the history of NASCAR. In addition to his racing credentials, Bubba has been a steadfast advocate for racial justice both on and off the track.

On Thursday, September 15th please join me, my Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus colleagues, and the fantastic Latinx candidates running for election this November for a special event in support of all of our respective campaigns.

This event falls on the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month - and we have much to celebrate!

Every year during this month we recognize the achievements and contributions of all Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success.

However, this year is quite special as we also get to celebrate one of our own, State Representative Elizabeth "Lisa" Hernandez, who was recently elected the first Latina Chair of the Democratic Party of Illinois!

We have some amazing momentum heading into the November elections, but we can't take that for granted. Please consider giving extra support to your Latinx elected officials and candidates to push us over the finish line.
