Our February Volunteer Spotlight highlights the incredible Tracy Boyle, one of our newer volunteers whose dedication truly stands out. A helper at her core, Tracy is a veteran, nurse, humanitarian, mother, and grandmother. As she approaches retirement, she reflects fondly on a life devoted to supporting others in need. She credits her parents for instilling in her the importance of treating everyone with kindness and respect, no matter who they are or where they come from.

Tracy is passionate about setting aside judgment and challenging preconceived ideas about people who rely on resources like food banks, fridges, and shelters. One meaningful part of that journey has been her work with Chicago Food Rescue.

In her free time, Tracy enjoys gardening and exploring other creative hobbies. Born and raised in Chicago’s near-west suburbs, she has spent much of her life traveling and living in unique places, including Turkey, Bangladesh, England, and New York. She says these experiences gave her the invaluable opportunity to learn from and connect with different cultures.

Stay tuned to our socials to see who we highlight next! 💚💜🧡

"If you're interested in donating your excess food, what are you waiting for?"

We’re spotlighting one of our incredible food donor partners, ! 🥯☕️ A Jewish deli in Lincoln Square serving up amazing bagels, pastries, coffee, and more. We loved chatting with owner and namesake Sam Zeitlin about his passion for donating excess food and his support for CFR and the work we do. Donating several times a week with over 70 donations in total, Zeitlin's is one of our most dedicated partners and we're so greatful for all the work they do!

Check out Zeitlins on the corner of Clybourn and Webster and tell them CFR sent you!

Stefi has been our amazing operations intern, and many of you have likely interacted with her directly! She’s been the voice on the phone coordinating rescues, troubleshooting logistics, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Stefi is a senior at DePaul who’s deeply involved in social justice and staying active in the community — and we’re so grateful for the heart she brings to CFR every day.

Thank you, Stefi! 💛
