There has been a recent rash of criminal activity on Southport and other shopping streets in the the neighborhood including Roscoe Village. They are asking for the public's support as well as the shop owners and employees. If you spot a group fitting this description in the neighborhood: The group consists of 4-5 African American Males approx 18-25 years old. They will enter businesses and try to engage in conversation, e.g. ask if the store is hiring, if they can purchase some services, or otherwise idle conversation. During this distraction, other members of the group will steal items from patrons or the store. They ask that if you see this group in the neighborhood that fits this description, that you immediately call 911 to report seeing them. They are actively trying to stop this theft ring.
