Six intrepid adventurers from the UK offices of Bristol and Cardiff have raised almost £3,000 for charity after completing the Brecon Beacons 10 Peaks Challenge. They raised the funds for the Youth Adventure Trust, which supports vulnerable young people to fulfil their potential and to lead positive lives in the future.
The team, made up of DTZ Surveyors, Ben Johnson, Jo Williams, Christian Crawfurd, Andrew Flower, Laura Halse and Matthew Wales, walked in excess of 36km (22 miles), scaling 10 of the Brecon Beacons’ highest peaks, within an impressive 9 hours 16 minutes and 39 seconds; well within the 10 hour deadline.

How cool! The DTZ-managed McPherson Building in Washington, DC recently hosted a celebration/re-opening to debut the new equipment and amenity upgrades in the building’s gym. There’s nothing better than a healthy workplace!

Tuesday, May 5 started out just like every other day for Wazir “Walter” Khan, a member of DTZ’s facility team at CentreCorp in East Toronto, Ontario. The day ended, however, with the saving of a life and revelation of a hero.

Around 1:30 p.m., a security team partner at the building suffered a cardiac emergency and was subsequently discovered unresponsive and in medical distress by Walter and a visiting FedEx employee. Walter administered life-saving CPR until emergency services arrived. Those emergency services personnel attribute the man's survival directly to Walter's actions.
Walter, however, downplayed his role in the incident. "It was the right thing to do. I was in the right place at the right time, and knew what I had to do to help. Teamwork helped save someone's life, and I am very proud of our efforts. You can count on me to make the same moves and efforts if another unfortunate event were to happen."

We are so proud of Walter for his quick thinking and ultimately life-saving actions and are thrilled to have him as part of the DTZ team. Way to go, Walter!
