Thank you to everyone who participated and helped foster meaningful conversations around inclusion, awareness and community.

Search had the opportunity to visit the Illinois State Capitol and connect with senators and representatives to share Search’s impact across their districts.
During the visit, we urged legislators to support the proposed $0.60/hour wage increase for DSPs, along with an additional $0.60 increase. A total $1.20/hour increase would achieve the longstanding goal of raising DSP wages to at least 150% of minimum wage.
Search also called for expanded access to Community Day Services by removing the 5-hour billing cap, updating transportation support and allowing for more individualized service hours.
Higher DSP wages and more flexible Day Services strengthen workforce stability, reduce disruptions and improve quality of life for people with disabilities.
