A giant worm is heading your way! We need your help to prepare! We're celebrating Nature's Decomposers at the Arts in the Dark Parade so we need your help to make parade costumes and puppets!
β»οΈ
We're marching and collaborating with our dear friends at Chicago Creative Reuse Exchange and invite you to explore the space and build with us.
π
Please RSVP so we have enough supplies ready for you. Build days will be at CCRX and at Chio's Studio in Humboldt Park. Address will be provided after you RSVP!

Enjoy these behind-the-scene pictures of our build days! The process is part of the fun!
ππ½ What you need to build a Giant Coyote ππ½
β’ Trash to build the armature β»οΈ
β’ a Stand to put the giant head on (our Jigsaw ran outta battery so we used a good old fashioned saw πͺ)
β’ Masking tape to make a mask over the trash
β’ Clay to sculpt the head
β’ SerΓ‘n Wrap to cover the clay
β’ Warbla and heat gun (look these up. But you could use paper mache instead. That's cheaper, but it takes longer)
β’ Body is made of wooden reeds and held together by zip ties and wood glue
β’ To be continued....
Here's where we're at with the process. The actual mounting of this coyote onto a backpack involves many trips to Menards, PVC pipe, and two hiking backpacks.
Please come support the debut of this coyote at our presentation "Be a Part of the Art: Wild Solutions".

We were at the Back- to-School Event with Northwestern Medicine and Mission of Our Lady of the Angels this past weekend. We led a Mad-libs style improv game and did arts and crafts. π¨
The following stats about the event are provided by Sister Stephanie:
"We gave out 822 backpacks!Β
There was about 1 adult for each of those kids, so we for sure had like 1500 people here.Β
We cooked way over 1500 hot dogs."
πππ¦
We believe in quality over quantity, but being a part of these stats are honorable.
