Podlasie or “Asie Ub” as it’s read for the past decade, now is fully re-lit once again! This was our first successful effort to restore an at risk, vintage neon sign in Chicago. What we learned during this process is that we as a city are at a critical point in these signs lives. Many of the owners and custodians of these signs are struggling to maintain them for many reasons. Within the next decade we may lose the majority of the remaining neon signs if we don’t act quickly. So we decided to take action and we are here to help! There are many neon professionals who we are happy to suggest for projects, our aim is to help keep this “not” lost trade alive in the city. If for some reason your sign has not been serviced for many years and needs restoration we can help. Please pass our information onto local businesses owners who may need support. Chicago Sign Museum wants the city’s hand-made signs saved before they’re gone Kelsey and Andrew McClellan founded the Chicago Sign Museum last year. It works to save vintage signs that are at risk of being erased by cheap vinyl graphics.

Made and installed in 1956, this beautiful Foremost Liquor sign came down yesterday after 70 years on Argyle.

Despite weeks of negotiations and providing alternative solutions for the sign, including relocation, the sign was ultimately purchased by an out of state buyer who will take the sign to Indiana.
