Home | Chicago Lunchbox Chicago Lunchbox was established in 2013 by Tanya & John Nguyen as the first cook on board food truck to offer Asian cuisine. The menu is inspired by traditional Asian dishes from Vietnam, Korea, Thailand and the Phillipines with innovative twists that is never short of flavor.

This week marks an especially difficult one for our Lunchbox family. Over the past year, we were working tirelessly on our newest venture, which was going to be a brick and mortar in the Edgewater/Rogers Park neighborhood. We were eagerly anticipating the day we could announce our Grand Opening and our final step of getting a long awaited inspection was scheduled for yesterday. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen due to a fire that destroyed the restaurant late Wednesday night.

We are heartbroken and devastated that our dream was ripped away in a matter of hours, but we are focusing on rebuilding it bigger and better as soon as possible.

We want to thank our family and friends, the food truck community, our loyal customers and even strangers on the street for the tremendous outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Your words are keeping us uplifted when we know being positive is essential to moving forward and rebuilding. We shall rise from these ashes. Stay tuned…
