As Founder and CEO of Sunshine Management, Bonita Harrison has contributed $30 million to Black generational wealth, generated $250,000 in annual tax revenue, delivered over 300 completed and active development units, and created more than 400 jobs.

A South Side native and University of Illinois at Chicago alumna, Bonita is more than a developer. She is a trailblazer. She made history as the first woman, first Black person, and youngest recipient of the Cook County Land Bank Developer of the Year Award, a testament to her impact and leadership in the field. Her work shows the power of development and construction as a tool for lasting impact.

The Resilience Project is moving steadily toward its May completion. 🏗️

This 6-unit refurbishment is on track for its May 2026 completion. From the essential exterior upgrades like new porches and downspouts to the high-quality finishes currently being installed, every step is handled with care.

Project Milestones:
✅ Insulation and exterior scopes are wrapped.
✅ Interior finishing has begun, with tile laying starting this week.
✅ All materials—from flooring to doors—are on-site and ready.

Heritage Grove is officially under construction in Chicago’s historic 3rd Ward.

This development reflects what is possible when community stakeholders, public leadership, lending partners, and mission-driven organizations unite around a shared vision for equitable homeownership and long-term wealth creation.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Alderman Pat Dowell for her leadership and support, as well as the City of Chicago Department of Planning & Development under the leadership of Commissioner Ciere Boatright and her entire team.
