This May Day we took to the streets with thousands of people across Chicago because the working class is fed up with billionaire rule. We are refusing to accept war, poverty, and climate collapse as inevitable.
The billionaire class has spent our whole lives telling us that their profit matters more than our future, and that nothing can change. We’re proving them wrong.
Sunrise is working across a coalition to build the kind of movement powerful enough to take on billionaire greed, ICE, fossil fuel executives, and corrupt politicians.

NO WORK.
NO SCHOOL.

The billionaire class has rigged the system for their profit while we drown in debt, endless war, and climate collapse.

This is the start of a youth uprising.

Ready to take the streets this May Day?
Join Sunrise Chicago and friends at 12:30 PM in Park No. 578 (at the corner of W Washington and N Wolcott) as we gather our energy and prepare to move together. We’ll be heading out as a group to join the city-wide May Day march and rally at Union Park. Don’t miss out!
Yesterday we celebrated our Green Schools win and work in Chicago with Mayor Brandon Johnson! Students at Carver Military Academy are helping bring solar energy to campus ☀️

On Friday, May 1, we’ll be joining millions of others across the country for a day of no work, no school, & no shopping to demand that the needs of working people are put over the wildest dreams a few billionaires. There are no shortcuts to creating the level of mass, sustained disruption that we’ll need to win the world we deserve. One day of action isn’t going to do ther trick, but May 1 is our next chance to show the power we’ve already built and build the muscle for sustained disruption

Last Wednesday, Sunrise Chicago joined Southeast Environmental Task Force to host our first Make Polluters Pay community dinner in Woodlawn! We shared food, learned together about the fight to hold polluters accountable for how they harm our communities, and discussed what climate justice would look like in our backyards.
