Introduction to Defensive Shotgun.

This one day defensive shotgun course emphasizes safe shotgun handling techniques, various carrying techniques and positions, loading, unloading and ammo swapping techniques; quick reloading procedures and effective recoil management. It also covers various shotgun fighting positions, stoppage clearance procedures, and a speed reload/competition drill that you won’t forget! A 12 or 20 gauge, pump action shotguns only are acceptable for this class. As a result of Illinois stupid, useless, and unconstitutional Assault Weapons ban, ALL SEMI-AUTO SHOTGUNS ARE CURRENTLY ILLEGAL Ammunition requirements: 60 rds. (35 rds. Birdshot, 15 rds. of Buckshot*, and 10 rds, slug).
A sling is recommended for your shotgun. A tactical sling is preferred (where the shotgun hangs in front of you) but a standard sling (where the shotgun hangs over one shoulder) is acceptable. Having a Side Saddle, i.e., shotgun cards, is not required, but is highly recommended. (In particular, I recommend the Esstac Shotgun Cards). Call if you have questions. Bringing a pair of shooting gloves, work gloves, driving gloves, etc., is also highly recommended (shotgun barrels get very hot, very quick; learn from my mistakes).
