My favorite class to teach is body scrub making. My favorite students to teach are TEACHERS!!! Teachers are so dedicated to taking care of their students and their community that they often forget themselves. My body scrubs making class reminds them that it is okay to take care of themselves too!

On August 2nd, I stepped out on faith and used the skills and confidence I gained during my 11 weeks with DePaul’s Multi-Faith Veterans Initiative VetHer Cohort to write and submit my very first grant EVER!

Fast forward to yesterday, August 8th...

I was a vendor selling art kits at the first Women Veterans Business Expo at Malcolm X College, and to my surprise, I was awarded the grant ON STAGE!!! 🙌🏾😭🎉

My FIRST grant application turned into my FIRST grant award! 🥹

When preparation, opportunity, and favor meet… whew! 🙏🏾

I’m grateful. I’m proud. And I’m just getting started!
