Pronounced dead by a remote doctor: Tele‑ICUs expand nationwide, including in Illinois It’s technology that’s already being used in intensive care units around the country, including in the Chicago area. But some patients may not know they’re being cared for by a tele-provider until after they’re admitted.

Our survey found about two thirds of people had trouble getting a doctors appointment when they needed it. And the wait time to see a specialist can be up to a year!
