Restoring the Sears, Roebuck & Company’s Sunken Garden Since Sears, Roebuck & Company left their 1906 headquarters in North Lawndale in 1987, buildings on the campus have been slowly and patiently adaptively reused. What’s next? The restoration of the Sears Sunken Garden.

Advocacy Update 3.18.19: Call for Witness Slips

Big news! The proposed Landscape Architect Practice Act has been formally introduced and assigned to the Senate Licensed Activities Committee as SB1899 (Sponsor: Senator Terry Link).
Pertinent information such as the bill status, synopsis as introduced, legislative actions taken thus far, and the bill’s full text can all be reviewed on the Illinois General Assembly website here.
We ask that you show your support for the practice act by filing a witness slip in your name as a proponent.
Following are the steps we ask you to take NOW – DO NOT DELAY. Completing the witness form slip should take no more than 5 minutes:

Identification: Complete your contact information.
Representation: American Society of Landscape Architects, Illinois Chapter. You may also add: Self, your company name, and any others you wish to include.
Position: Click the Proponent position.
Testimony: Click Record of Appearance Only
Terms of Agreement: check the tick box for terms of agreement.
Click ‘Create (Slip).
You will receive a confirmation.
You do not need to be a Registered Landscape Architect or a member of the ILASLA to file a witness slip. You only need to be a resident of Illinois, so please feel free to share with family, friends, or anyone that will support you and the profession!
