Earlier this year, approached to collaborate on a set of dining chairs.

Says Navillus—“Building a solid wood dining chair will forever be the best, funnest, most time consuming challenge for a woodworker. There are famous expensive chairs (the entire Design Within Reach collection) and ubiquitous cheap chairs (see the cover of Bad Bunny’s brilliant new album). It is easy to find discarded beauties in thrift stores and antique shops and alleyways and musty basements, orphaned from a set and in need of refurbishment. Like shoes, chairs are always necessary, but no chair exists that serves everyone.”

From the initial point of inspiration, NW changed the geometry, refined the joinery, stretched and shrank dimensions, dialed in a custom finish and added subtle detailing. Then, the heavy gauge, beautiful black leather added some s*x appeal (and comfort) to truly make this chair an original.

A year ago, had to pull off a job despite being about 90% completed, due to a dispute between the GC and the client. This was a multi-year, whole house renovation, with NW providing the entire millwork package.

Finally able to return, with a new GC, they’re looking forward to seeing through some very nice design work by and getting the client into this beautiful home.

custom wardrobes that are just as nice on the inside (kinda nicer). Off the primary bedroom are walkthrough closets featuring LED lighting and pink interiors. The secondary bedroom is in the same dreamy blue with pocket doors for an entertainment center. All in collaboration with their friends at

Let’s put eyes on this big beautiful built-in bookcase produced a couple years ago, now fully and artfully stocked. This design was very much a collaboration with the homeowners which was both a pleasure and easy, finding much common ground in their combined aesthetic tastes.

Some of details worth pointing out: rounded corners, steel post legs with a pop of red on the ends, accent lighting integrated into the shelving and behind the cabinet which is “floating” off the wall, inset drawers, and of course beautiful walnut hardwood and veneers.
