An ‘On-Ramp’ To Ownership: Chicago Developer Uses Crowdfunding To Get New Group Of Investors In The Game 04/12/2024

Well done Ryan Wangman. I am elated that you got to talk to one of our investors!! And thank you MyLynda S., father and grandfather for your vote of confidence!!!

“MyLynda Stubblefield, her father and her grandfather each put $1K into the project because they were interested in property investment as a way of building generational wealth, she said. Most of her family grew up in Roseland, and her nephew was born at the hospital across the street from the shopping center.

After reading through the business plan and projected investment returns, she found she liked the plan and the opportunity to invest in a community she has a connection to.

Stubblefield purchased a house two years ago, but this is her first time investing in commercial property.

“Every investment is a risk, but me, my dad and my grandfather feel comfortable that the risk was well worth it,” Stubblefield said.”

An ‘On-Ramp’ To Ownership: Chicago Developer Uses Crowdfunding To Get New Group Of Investors In The Game The Chicago Trend Corp. negotiated a deal to acquire the Roseland Center for $6M and is seeking community investors to take ownership stakes in the property.

Lyneir Richardson. We Own This. 02/23/2023

Got a few minutes to listen? Eve has out CEO talking on her Podcast…

“We Own This. That’s what Lyneir wants every one of his neighbors to be able to say.

Lyneir is inviting 1,000 small investors to co-own as many as sixteen community shopping centers with his company, Chicago TREND. Last year he launched this process with a listing on SmallChange (dot) co for a shopping center called Walbrook Junction. Today, 130 small investors co-own that shopping center with Chicago TREND.

There are plenty more to come.

To accomplish this extraordinary goal, Lyneir and his team have developed a rigorous set of criteria for finding and buying shopping centers in majority Black Demographics that are on the cusp of change, and which offer added value over time. His plan is to empower Black entrepreneurs and community residents to have a meaningful ownership stake in both commercial corridors and Black shopping districts.

Big ideas yield big results. Listen in to hear more.”

We launched the Edmondson Village Shopping Center project on the Small Change platform.

We are excited about the positive impact that this redevelopment will have on the neighborhood and in the City of Baltimore. We have some ambitious plans.

The Chicago TREND Corporation is investing $1M+ and we are creating an opportunity for local residents, Black entrepreneurs and other impact investors to have an equity stake in the project with us.

We are inviting out friends to consider being an early investor with me. It is an important project to stand up during Black History Month.

And please share this with your network! Thank you.
