Elston/Pulaski area, please keep an eye out for Flip Flop! She wiggled out of all of her walking gear on her way back in from a walk and was last seen at Montrose & Cullom. Call or text with sightings!

Yesterday, we took a trip to Chicago Animal Care and Control, where we fell in love over and over again with amazing dog after amazing dog. The truth is, our city shelter is *full to bursting* with deserving pups just waiting to be somebody’s best friend. We found 6 dogs we’d have loved to load right up and bring into our program, but we had to leave without them. Our shelter is full, and we need foster homes to help us empty out kennels and make room for these sweet dogs waiting for their turn.

Fostering is fun, challenging, rewarding, and SO necessary to keep our mission to save more lives moving forward. Can you help?

Everyone meet our newest arrival, Empanada! She is a 3 year old bully mix….and you can see why we have her this name 😂

She came from a local municipal shelter and needs a little TLC, but will be available for adoption soon. Welcome to CCR Empanada!

Thank you to all our CCR alumni and friends for coming out for a day of celebration and fun at Pup Social Club yesterday❤️

This fall we are celebrating TWENTY FIVE years of rescue and we are so happy we got to celebrate this milestone with all of the pups who made it happen. 🐶❤️

Not only did we have a birthday party but we also were able to raise $5,000 for the current pups looking for the best friend to party with. Thank you for the bottom of our hearts for continuing to support our mission long after your story has begun.

We will have another celebration (humans only) at Goose Island Barrel House this October with Bark Bash! We still can't imagine why nobody has scooped up Wendell yet! He arrived from CACC in April, and is an absolute gentleman. He is a fetch enthusiast and loves a good tennis ball. And as an added bonus - look at how handsome he is!!!

🚨 URGENT: One of our CCR graduates needs help! 🚨

You may remember Stevie Nicks, who was adopted back in 2024. Stevie came to CCR as a mama to a litter of adorable puppies and was so incredibly loved during her time with us. ❤️

A few days ago, Stevie was hit by a car and suffered a fractured pelvis. Thankfully, there is no internal bleeding and she is currently stable at the ER, but she will need surgery to repair her pelvis.

Her family is hoping their community can come together to help cover the cost of her emergency surgery. If you’re able to donate or simply share her fundraiser, we would be so grateful for any support you can give Stevie and her family.

Let’s rally around this sweet CCR graduate and help get Stevie the care she needs!
