There are three events we would like to highlight that are happening at the ITechLaw Conference in Chicago on Friday, May 15th:

📍 I-WIN Breakfast from 9am - 10am. Attorney Daliah Saper of Saper Law will discuss her road to managing a thriving media and technology law firm.

📍 6C: Exploring the Frontiers of High-Risk Data: Biometrics, Neurological Data, and Beyond from 1:30pm - 2:45pm. The speakers for this session are M. Imtiaz Karamat of Deeth Williams Wall LLP, Mónica Oliveira Costa, CRA at Coelho Ribeiro & Associados, Tatyana Ruderman of InfoLawGroup LLP, and Robert Collins of Latham & Watkins LLP.

📍 Keynote: The Sky We All Share: Space, Exploration, and Policies to Sustain the Human Connection from 4:00pm - 4:30pm. This is an exciting opportunity to hear about the future of space exploration and legislation from Elizabeth Babcock, President and CEO of Adler Planetarium, and Roohi Dalal, Deputy Director of Public Policy at the American Astronomical Society.

As part of the ITechLaw 2026 World Technology Law Conference, attendees will gather on Thursday, May 14th, for the conference Gala Dinner at the iconic Adler Planetarium.

Recognized as the first planetarium in the Western Hemisphere, the Adler is renowned for its immersive dome theater sky shows, engaging astronomical exhibits, and breathtaking views of the Chicago skyline and lakefront.

This year’s conference is already proving to be a tremendous success, ranking as the third-largest U.S.-based ITechLaw conference ever hosted and welcoming more than 80 first-time attendees from around the world.

For those of us located in the Northern Hemisphere, spring is the best time of year to view distant galaxies. This is because it’s the time of year when Earth’s orbit causes the night sky to face away from the dense and dusty plane of the Milky Way 🌌

This is your moment to grab some binoculars or a telescope and find a truly dark sky. See if you can spot Markarian’s Chain, a breathtaking arc of galaxies found within the Virgo Cluster.

In the coming days, we’ll be sharing highlights of upcoming astronomical events, along with the latest developments shaping space exploration and the laws that govern it—an evolving frontier where science meets policy.

Charles Mudd, Mudd Law’s principal attorney, brings a rare blend of legal insight and scientific perspective to this work. He is a member of the American Astronomical Society and the International Institute of Space Law, and has completed graduate-level astrophysics studies at University of Chicago as a Returning Scholar.

It’s this unique combination—grounded in both law and the science of space—that positions Mudd Law at the forefront of the rapidly expanding field of space law.

International Dark Sky Week Celebrate International Dark Sky Week, a global event inspiring people to discover the night, reduce light pollution, and take action to protect dark skies worldwide.

Charles Mudd, principal attorney at Mudd Law, will take the stage as a featured panelist at Northwestern University’s Energy Innovation Lab conference, “Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies,” tomorrow, Friday, April 17.

Mudd Law congratulates everyone involved in 47 The Movie for their incredible work in the film that led to '47' being selected by the L.A. Shorts International Film Festival to premiere this evening at Regal L.A. LIVE. The film explores the anguish often experienced by those experiencing fertility through a narrative dramatic lens. After catching the eye of our principal Charles Mudd, he and Katherine Mudd joined the project as executive producers.
