Intelligence Insider's Worldwide Media Spend Forecast for 2024 is a great read and brings encouraging news for digital media.
Notable callouts:
1. Overall digital media growth is predicted to be 13.2% a considerable up-tick from the last two years. Traditional media will see a modest rebound with growth of around 2.5%
2. The global media industry is projected to reach nearly $1 trillion with 70% of spent on digital advertising. Traditional media still has a core role to play in marketing and engagement but not adapting a comprehensive digital first approach is going to leave you behind your competitors.
3. In the US, the percentage of all media spend on digital compared to total is 77%. In China it will be 85%. This means for every $1 spent on advertising in the US, 77 cents goes to digital companies (Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, LinkedIn, Bing, etc.".
The outlook for digital ad spending is positive and the key takeaway for businesses - small, medium, and enterprise - is to move towards a digital first engagement strategy.
Happy reading!

It's always enjoyable reading reporting from the BBC. I find it is generally balanced and straightforward with minimal sensationalism.
That said, I did appreciate this quote near the top of the article: "It is unclear what happened but Ms Boebert said: 'I didn't punch Jayson in the face and no-one was arrested.'"
Normally, you do not need to call out the fact that you didn't punch someone in the face but I suppose Lauren Boebert is the exception.
I doubt this will change your constituent's perspective on her since this is hardly the most outrageous news story about her but it does beg the question: how does she feel so comfortable behaving in such a way that she does not believe it will hurt her political career?
My take is there are three elements at play:
First, I think she genuinely has trouble managing her emotions and these wild events/scenarios are not part of any calculated brand image she is looking to create/cultivate.
Second, I imagine this is why she is running in the newly created and heavily conservative 4th Congressional District. She and her team know that as long as she is a Republican and the district heavily leans Republican, they'll look past her antics because they will never vote for a Democratic Rep.
Third, she is probably beginning to feel the inevitable loss is coming. It is doubtful she wins in a new district where she is not from and people likely only know her for her sensationalism as opposed to anything of substance.
The point is that brand in politics - whether as a newcomer or career politician is critical to your success and longevity. Had she focused on building a better brand that wasn't mired in controversy she probably would have been safe in her current district and if not, likely would have an easier time in the new district.
I'm just glad she didn't punch anyone in the face!
