We were pretty excited about our 19th anniversary this fall, and then we heard The Original Rainbow Cone is celebrating 100 years of business!

We had to visit last week in a look that nods to the perfectly pastel and beautifully sliced (not scooped!) Original Rainbow Cone, our Neko Tank and Emmy Pant in Vintage Rainbow 🌈

The last question is one to keep top of mind these days. If you’re spending money, you’re supporting something.

And wouldn’t it be nice to support your friendly local super small Chicago team designing apparel made by similarly friendly local super small production teams in India and Nepal? 😁😁😁

We have always thought it’s so cool to be working with these partners, and honestly are so heart warmed by the thought of all of you thinking the same.

Stripe mixing so subtle you’ll have to look twice 👀

I was at my desk in the studio the other day, fabric swatches everywhere, probably talking to myself as one does, when a neighborhood woman stopped in to pick up her online order. She was so excited and told me that 2 years ago, she bought our Olivia Dress in green and has worn it so many times she can’t even count. Still wears it all the time. It’s the one she reaches for when she wants to feel good without thinking about it.

So when she saw we brought the Olivia style back this season in two new colors, she ordered one immediately.
Just like that.

Jacob handed it to her in the garment bag and she said:
“Oh, I don’t even need to try it on. I already know how it fits.”

A woman who just trusts a dress that much? Honestly, that’s everything. My heart was full and I couldn’t stop smiling :)

This season’s Olivia is back in two new colors:

~ French Lilac: lightweight lined cotton with a hand screen printed botanical print. Relaxed, a little romantic, great on every body. Pockets, obviously.

~ Teal Modal: the same beloved silhouette in modal, a plant-based fabric that feels genuinely silky against your skin. Vivid, airy, and one of those things you have to touch to believe. Also: pockets.

Both made fair trade, small-batch, in India by one of our long-standing production partners.

This is the one people come back for. She’s proof.
