It’s been awhile 🌸📚🏔️✨
Little recap of quarter 1 & 1/2 😌
✅ Lots of growing
✅ Lots of changes
✅ Lots of nature
✅ Lots of love 🤎
Balance will ALWAYS be the goal ✨🤎✨🤎
On to quarter ✌🏾
Time for a little change 🫣✂️
I didn’t realize how much food could affect my hormones until I had to.
Well, I always knew… but I guess I didn’t really know until it physically impacted me.
Finding out about my uterine fibroids forced me to stop ignoring my health just to keep going. For so long, I pushed through the fatigue, the discomfort, the warning signs — because I was afraid of falling behind if I slowed down.
But let me be the reminder that your health is not optional. You only get one body to live in — and if you’ve been pushing through or putting it off, I encourage you to check in with yourself.
It seems like these days, every woman knows someone who’s been impacted by uterine fibroids — and yet, we rarely talk about how deeply they affect our energy, hormones, confidence, femininity, and overall well-being.
For me, the shift started with food — slowing down and choosing nourishment over convenience.
My body responds best when my plate looks like the rainbow:
🌈 Leafy greens and colorful veggies for balance
🐟 Fish for healthy fats
🥣 Chia and flaxseeds for hormone support
🍓 Anti-inflammatory fruits that help my body heal
This is how I’ve been showing up for myself — tuning in, slowing down, and choosing better for my body every day.
In what ways have you been showing up for you? 💛

August RECAP ✨
August was exactly what I needed before stepping into September (aka my busiest month every year). Since it was National Wellness Month, I leaned all the way in—got back into therapy, slowed down, and gave myself space to just be. With my birthday around the corner (34 🖤), I’m heading into this new season grounded and hopeful. I hope you find a little peace for yourself this month too.
R — Reading: The Memo (8.5/10, solid tips), Professional Troublemaker (10/10, bold and affirming), and Sisters of the Yam (10/10, truly transformative for me as a Black woman).
E — Eating: Food brings me joy. I cooked at home, found a new favorite salmon dish, discovered a neighborhood spot I really like and tried Sweetgreen for the first time ever… holy s**t, where has it been all my life? lol.
C — Care: Staying consistent with my body care— sleep mask, my tried-and-true , and collagen every night. I’ve been reminding myself that self-care can be an act of resistance in a world that demands so much from us.
A — Activity: This month was about nurturing creativity—starting a crochet project, caring for my little plant, and daily walks with Honey.
P — Progress: Quiet but steady. Moving with passion, laying foundations, and slowly bringing something bigger to life—for me, and for women who look like me.
✨ August felt almost spiritual—a quiet practice of reconnecting with myself, my creativity, and the little things that bring me joy. I know September will be one of those months that feels like someone set me on fire and threw gasoline on top, but this is my reminder: to hold onto who I am, what I enjoy, and to keep weaving the small things into my days. As we step into this new month, I hope you also find the practices, joys, and simple moments that keep you grounded.

📚 Let’s Talk Books: Series Edition
You ever finish a book and just sit there like… what now? Because same. These series had me up at 2AM with a reading light clipped to my bonnet, under a blanket tent, ignoring real-life responsibilities—and honestly? No regrets. 😮💨✨
Here are three series that truly delivered—and if you’re looking for your next read, start here:
⸻
🔥 The Fourth Wing Series by Rebecca Yarros
Dragons. Spice. Betrayal. Chaos.
1. Fourth Wing
2. Iron Flame
3. Onyx Storm
This series is unhinged in the best way. If you like tension, plot twists, and morally questionable choices—go ahead and clear your weekend.
⸻
🤎 The Skyland Series by Kennedy Ryan
Black love. Healing. Grown-folks business. And the SPICE 🔥🔥🔥🥵🔥🔥🔥
1. Before I Let Go
2. This Could Be Us
3. Can’t Get Enough
These books are layered and honest. They explore grief, joy, vulnerability, second chances—and the kind of love that gets in your bones.
Kennedy… girl, what are you sprinkling in these books?? ‘Cause it’s gotta be crack.
⸻
🖤 The Legacy of Orïsha Series by Tomi Adeyemi
Magic. Revolution. Ancestral power.
1. Children of Blood and Bone
2. Children of Virtue and Vengeance
3. Children of Anguish and Anarchy
If Avatar: The Last Airbender had a baby with Wakanda and raised it on Fourth Wing energy—this is it. Rich world-building, elemental magic, and Black girl power at the center.
⸻
✨ Highly recommend these if you’re looking for your next escape. And if you’ve got recs… drop ’em! I’m listening.

My hibiscus trees have come to life!! 🌺🌿
There’s something kind of magical about how things just bloom when they’re ready.
Fun fact: Hibiscus flowers actually close up in the heat—not because they’re dying, but to protect what’s precious.
Even in bloom, they know when to rest.
May whatever you’ve been watering start to blossom soon! 🤎✨

There was something really sweet about today — nothing major happened, but it all felt good. ✨
📖 A quiet moment with my book
🍵 A strawberry matcha paired with an almond croissant
🪑 A cozy corner to sit, breathe, and take it all in
I’ve been paying more attention to the small moments like these. They really do add up.
Shout out to — a coffee and plant shop run with so much intention. The space is super cute and clearly cared for. You gotta check it out if you’re in the area.
Hope you find a soft moment for yourself today, even if it’s small. 🍵✨
