Weigh-in Day with !!
At this point I’m down 12.8 lbs, so I’m moving the needle slowly, but it’s moving!!!💃🏻
May is chaos. Your energy doesn’t have to be.
Every Monday this month, Beth and I are bringing you real-life energy tools to help you stay grounded, protected, and not completely lose your mind #
Today’s tip: the “Zip Up” — a simple daily practice to keep your energy YOURS.
Because Maycember doesn’t get to take you down this year.

🎉May Energy Tips for Moms!!
Here is the full video (5 min) that Beth and I did today! We will be coming on every Monday in May with a new energy tip and discussion topic to help us all get through the busiest month of the year!!!
We’re Back!!! Friday walks with where she shares quick tips for us to better utilize quick workouts!!
The craziest month is upon us … let’s keep moving and motivated!
We used the BFR bands today and did some quick muscle burn exercises as we walked!
Anyone local who wants to join us next Friday let me know!!
I can deliver a baby in a car but show me a needle and try to take blood and I may just hit the floor!!
Today I was “locked in”, hydrated and had a rock star phlebotomist …. My veins did not collapse and I didn’t pass out!!💃🏻
Can’t wait to see what my fasting insulin is, A1C, Vit D level etc.
Anyone else completely spiral when they have to get blood taken??
I may forget why I walked into a room… but I 💯 will NOT fall for the “I gave it to you” tactic from my middle school daughters.
Their confidence is impressive…
The strategy? Flawed.
At this point I might have to start gaslighting them back… just to keep things interesting
Anyone else dealing with this or is it just happening in my house?
Going sober 6 years ago was a piece of cake compared to this low-carb journey!
I have been shocked at how tough the past 6-7 weeks have been … maybe I should have phased into the low carb lifestyle instead of going cold turkey!
The first 5 weeks were brutal but now I’m coming out of it a feeling much better.
Weight has started to come off and feeling more energy … has anyone else had the same reaction?
It’s crazy but I’m glad I stuck with it … I still at times want to shove my face into a bag of chips but the cravings have gotten better!!💃🏻
6 weeks of keto and I finally feel like I’m fat adapted, so now it’s time for a little experiment: a 36-hour water fast!
I’m on day 7 of my cycle, which according to Dr. Mindy Pelz is a great time for a fast this length—so I’m giving it a shot.
Really hoping for a little extra energy + deeper fat burning…
BONUS: I told my family they’re on their own for dinner tonight because I can’t be around food right now 😂
Anyone else into extended fasts?
Midlife weight loss looks a LOT different this time… and I’m LOCKED IN.
I can’t force my body to fit strategies that used to work in my 20s and 30s.
This time, I’m focused on understanding what my body actually needs and learning how to turn on the metabolic switch instead of fighting against it.
✅ Here are 10 things I’m doing differently:
☀️ Morning sunlight in my bare eyes first thing
• Working with an applied kinesiologist to better understand what my body wants
• Lymphatic drainage with LET
• Calming my brain + nervous system with BrainTap
• Weekly weigh-ins with a coach for accountability + data
🩸 Bloodwork to check insulin, A1C, and what’s really happening behind the scenes
• Walking or doing squats after eating
• Reverse IF — stopping food earlier in the evening
• Added colonics to support detox + elimination
✨Really learning what helps my body make that metabolic switch
I’ll definitely be sharing more about each one of these and adding to the list as I go.
This round feels different because it’s less about punishment and more about support.
Maybe the real shift in midlife weight loss is finally learning to work with your body instead of against it.
Turns out stress, hormones, insulin, and sleep may be driving more than calories ever did.
🔥Midlife gals—what’s something that’s actually worked for YOU?

🎉 Happy 14th Birthday to our “little” Dylan Dorothy (who is now many inches taller than me and somehow grew while I blinked).
Fourteen years of grit, growth, plot twists, big feelings…… and elite-level negotiation skills!
She has walked through things that could have hardened her — instead, they shaped her. Resilient. Determined. Fierce. Funny. And lots of main character energy!
We are so unbelievably proud of the young woman she is becoming — we can’t wait to see how she tackles high school and the year ahead!
We ❤️ you D$!!!
Sleep deprivation + heavy mental load is a dangerous combo for me!!
Especially when I hit max capacity by 7am and the f-bombs start well before the coffee does.
I almost didn’t post this —
but pretending we don’t have these days doesn’t help anyone.
As midlife gals we still have limits.
And some mornings, the nervous system taps out early.
On days like this, it’s hard to whip out one of my 500 gratitude journals…. 😉
To all my gal pals — when the mental load explodes before breakfast, what actually helps you reset?
