First celebrated in Texas in 1866 Juneteenth commemorates the day the last enslaved African American people learned of their freedom more than 2 years after the emancipation proclamation.

In 2021 Congress passed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act. President Joe Biden signed it into law June 17th 2021 making it the 11th federal holiday and the First new one since Martin Luther King Jr day was established in 1983.

For us freedom means:
-Expungement of cannabis records -Representation and legislative space
-Black ownership in the legal cannabis industry
-Reinvestment into communities harm by the War on Drugs.

2024 was a BIG win for cannabis and women's health in Illinois.

We are calling for the state to add PCOS & Sickle Cell Disease to the list of qualifying conditions for medical cannabis.
