Happy Anniversary to my husband and biggest supporter. ❤️

37 years together, and somehow it still feels like yesterday.

We’ve been through so many chapters of life together

— raising a family, traveling, becoming grandparents, and even taking on this crazy, beautiful rescue journey with Perfectly Posh Paws Rescue.

Behind every late-night rescue call, every dog brought into our home, every adoption, every heartbreak,

— and every happy ending, there has always been a family behind the scenes supporting the mission.

Thank you for sharing this life with me, for standing beside me through all of its twists and turns,

— and for being part of the journey that has allowed me to follow my heart and help so many dogs along the way.

From our adventures in Italy to quiet moments with our grandchildren, and all the paws that have crossed our path in between

— I’m grateful for every memory.

Did you know that after having a baby, a mother flamingo can lose much of her beautiful pink color?

She gives so much of herself to nurturing her baby that, for a while, she becomes pale.

But slowly… she gets her pink back. 🦩✨

And maybe there’s something beautifully human about that.

Sometimes life takes our pink too.

Motherhood.
Marriage.
Caregiving.
Loss.
Stress.
Survival.
Putting everyone else first.

We pour and pour until one day we look at ourselves and wonder…

Where did I go?

But you’re still there.

And little by little, you begin coming back.

You laugh again.
You dream again.
You make time for yourself again.
You remember what makes you feel alive.

And slowly…

you get your pink back. 🩷

Not because you became the person you used to be.

Because you found a new version of yourself — wiser, stronger, softer, and maybe even more beautiful than before.

🐾 Rue’s Adoption Day — Sometimes They Just Know ❤️

Rue arrived in our care as a homeless little girl.

A kind woman surrendered her, and when we went to animal control to meet her, Rue simply sat there staring at us

— quiet as a church mouse, almost as if she was waiting to see what would happen next.

Then came her foster home.

Her foster mom, Mollie, welcomed Rue with open arms and showered her with love.

She made sure Rue felt safe, included, and cared for.

Rue met the neighbors, discovered toys, settled into a routine, and slowly began showing everyone just how special she was.

And somewhere along the way, Mollie fell in love with her too. ❤️

Then Holly and Brook saw Rue’s picture.

It was love at first sight.

When they came to meet her, Rue seemed to know exactly what she was doing.

She smiled, cuddled close, turned on every ounce of charm she had — and completely stole their hearts.

And when it was time for them to leave?

Rue tried to jump right into their car.

Sometimes the dog chooses too. ❤️

Holly and Brook had recently lost their beloved pup, Rascal, and Rue somehow felt like the little piece their hearts had been waiting for.

They knew.

Rue was their girl.

There were smiles. There were tears. And there was that beautiful feeling we live for in rescue

— watching a once-homeless dog realize she is finally going home.

Rue, you found your mommies. You found your forever.

Go live courageously, sweetheart. Explore every new smell, enjoy every adventure, claim the comfiest spot in the house, and soak up every bit of love waiting for you.

You won the hearts of so many people along the way, but somehow it feels as though Holly and Brook were always meant to find you.

A very special thank-you to Mollie, Rue’s foster mom, for opening her home and heart and giving Rue a safe place to land while she waited for her forever family.

Mollie showered her with love, introduced her to neighbors, helped her feel safe, and gave her the chance to blossom into the happy little girl Holly and Brook fell in love with.

And Holly and Brook — please give Rue one giant kiss from all of us at the Posh Team.

We are going to miss you, sweetheart.

But this is exactly the goodbye we hoped for. ❤️🐾

🐾 Don’t Let Your Passion Die Inside You

My dream of starting a dog rescue didn’t happen overnight.

It began when I was about 45 years old.

Behind the scenes, I was quietly putting the pieces together.

I volunteered. I fostered. I learned. I watched.

And for a long time, I kept this little dream tucked away inside of me.

By the time I turned 50, I knew I was ready to walk away from corporate America and take a chance on something that had been calling my heart for years.

Quietly, I built my website. I researched.

I talked to people in rescue. I applied for the certifications and licensing I needed.

And I still remember receiving that last certification.

I jumped for joy.

Suddenly, this dream I had carried around inside me wasn’t just a dream anymore.

When I finally began telling family and friends what I was doing, not everyone understood or embraced my newfound passion.

But you know what?

It didn’t matter.

For the first time, I felt like I had found something I was truly meant to do.

I walked into animal control and pulled dogs of every kind

—Pit Bulls, Great Pyrenees, German Shepherds, little dogs, big dogs, bonded pairs, seniors and medically challenged dogs.

I wasn’t looking for the easiest dogs to save.

I simply wanted to save dogs.

And all these years later, that little dream that started quietly inside of me became Perfectly Posh Paws Rescue. ❤️🐾

I share this because I believe every one of us has a tiny flicker inside

—a dream, an idea, a passion or something we’ve always wondered, “What if?”

Sometimes we’re too afraid to follow it because we don’t know where it will lead.

Follow it anyway.

You don’t have to have everything figured out.

You don’t need everyone around you to understand it.

Don’t let your passion die inside of you.

Give yourself the grace and freedom to explore that part of yourself.

You may just discover that the little flicker you’ve been carrying around for years

— is capable of becoming something bigger than you ever imagined. ❤️

Sometimes the life meant for you begins the moment you find the courage to follow what has been quietly calling your heart.

✨ There Is Freedom in Being Who You Truly Are ✨

There is something incredibly freeing about being transparent and authentic about who you are.

No pretending.
No trying to impress.
No changing yourself to make other people comfortable.
No hiding the imperfect pieces of your story.

Just you.

When you begin living authentically, life becomes simpler.

You stop worrying so much about what others think. You stop carrying the weight of trying to be everything for everyone.

You learn that the people meant to be in your life will appreciate the real you—not a version you created to be accepted.

Being transparent doesn’t mean sharing everything with everyone. It means being honest with yourself about who you are, what you value, what you need and what brings you happiness.

There is peace in that. ❤️

Be genuine. Be kind. Be imperfect. Be transparent. Be YOU.

Because when your heart and your life finally match, there is a beautiful kind of freedom that follows.

COURAGE CHANGES LIVES 🐾

Courage doesn’t always mean you’re fearless.

Sometimes courage is simply deciding that something needs to change—and being brave enough to take the first step.

❤️ Courage makes us stronger.
❤️ Courage helps us change situations that feel impossible.
❤️ Courage pushes us forward when giving up would be easier.

In rescue, courage changes lives.

It’s the courage to say YES to the dog everyone else has passed by.

It’s walking into a shelter and promising a frightened dog, “You’re coming with me.”

It’s opening your home to foster, even when you know saying goodbye may hurt.

It’s taking on the sick dog, the senior dog, the scared dog, or the dog who simply needs someone willing to believe in them.

And sometimes, courage belongs to the dogs themselves.

The ones who have been abandoned, neglected, frightened or forgotten—and somehow find the courage to trust again. ❤️

Courage may start with one person making one decision.
But that one decision can change a dog’s entire life.

Be brave enough to make a difference.
Be brave enough to care.

These freedom rides are freed dogs. Look at their faces.

Some were so sick, some so afraid, some bursting with joy, some never made it their forever home due to medical issues or we were just too late.

But all these dogs were saved because one person said Yes, your life matters.
