This is — the son of the great Verne Allison Sr. from the legendary Chicago soul group The Dells. 🎶

My father went to college with Verne.
Years later, he handed him my demo…
and eventually, Verne gave me a shot. 🙏🏽

That moment changed everything.

He opened the door for me in this industry —
as a singer, performer, and professional.

So when I finally got in a position of leadership…
what did I do?
The exact same thing. 💯

giving me rides to gigs when I didn’t even have a car (lol),
and most importantly,
teaching me how to be a vessel for others. ❤️

🎉Today's my birthday, but my 3-month-old son, Quincy, is clearly the star of the show.

Cheers to his milestone and to my amazing wife for giving me the best gift ever - our son! 🥂

👶🏽No such thing as TWO much sleep or TWO many smiles for our TWO-month-old

👼🏼…And just like that, our little guy has officially turned one month old. The joy and warmth that a child brings are simply unexplainable.

🥲My mom is officially retired! Please join me in celebrating her 47 years of dedication and hard work.

Mom, do you remember staying late at the office to help me with my science projects while juggling your own work?

Or working tirelessly all week and then teaching at church on weekends as the Y.P.P.U. director, Sunday school teacher, and minister to those in need?

I will never forget. You laid the blueprint for me, and I carry it with me in my daily walk. THANK YOU! … Both of my parents are now retired. Wow🥹

My mom made my wedding day possible. She encouraged me to pivot differently.

I pushed my ego aside and decided to listen, and now I am in a world of joy with my wife. My marriage seems imprinted with the presence of God.

Today, I not only celebrate you, but I honor you for your due diligence as a parent, provider, protector, nurturer, and prayer warrior.

I need you in my life. Even when I don’t want you to be, sometimes... I need you. You know that, too. You always know. Thank you.
