How do you run your afterguys? This boat uses a big bail Tylaska on the sheet, which the guy shackle gets clipped in to. This lets you remvoe the guy in light air, and (I think) helps prevent the sheet flipping around the pole tip. Other boats like to use a single shackle: less weight but you're stuck with the guy/sheet together.

On it's way out the door, this box for a 40.7 touched off a bit of a debate, regarding how you shackle your sheets and guys for symmetric spinnakered boats. This boat uses a large bail shackle on the sheet, which gets the guy clipped to it's bail. The plus for this is that you can easily remove the guy for light air, and the sheet is less likely to wrap the pole tip in gybes. Crew from a different boat was looking at this and didn't like it; they use one shackle to save weight and limit how much the tack can articulate ahead of the pole (wiggle) but at the expense of not being able to fly on sheets only when it's light. How do you handle afterguys?

Interesting new rope landed on the bench!

From Kingfisher Ropes, it's called Pro Halyard 99. SK99 core, but the cover is the interesting bit; it's a blend of polyester, Cordura and Kevlar. The Cordura is there for grip, the Kevlar for grip and abrasion resistance. So far it tests great on the bench showing the least slip in XTS clutches of anything I've tested

Making the boat show order list a bit shorter, made a ton of racing rope today. Still have a good wall of discounted cut lengths so if you need gear get in touch!

If your forestay lasts longer than your blender, you're probably not sailing a T10...

The standard T Ball fitting has an angle of around 12 degrees, but the forestay on a T10 is more like 19... the wide angle fitting (top) is going to be a much better fit and puts far less strain on the wire below the fitting

PROtect tapes order! We have to order some custom tapes, so if there's anything you're looking for before the Mac, nows the time. I'm keeping the chafe tape, MASK (millionaires) tape, and headfoil tapes in stock, but if you want something special like a mast shock pad of wingsail film (ha!) let me know in the next day or so and we'll get it here before July.
