At Everstone Day School, every student takes the Word Identification and Spelling Test (WIST) as part of the admissions process. Before transitioning to their next school, students take the WIST again, allowing us to measure growth over time.

The WIST assesses word identification, spelling, foundational literacy skills, and sound-symbol knowledge. By comparing students’ initial and transition results, we can see the remarkable progress they make during their time at Everstone through evidence-based programs like Spell Links and the Wilson Reading System.

The results tell a powerful story: our students grow in confidence, skills, and literacy readiness for the next step in their educational journey.
