Broken pieces become art only in the Artist's hands. Like the mirrored tunnel mosaic, God rearranges our shattered places into reflections of His light—but only if we yield to His grip. Surrender isn't loss; it's the beginning of seeing beauty through His lens.
"But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand." (Isaiah 64:8, ESV)
We often ask God to bless our plans, fix our circumstances, and remove our struggles, yet resist His shaping process. Clay that refuses the potter's hands can never become what it was designed to be. Surrender requires laying down our demand for control and trusting the Father's wisdom over our own. The hands that shape us are the same hands that formed us, redeemed us, and know exactly what we are meant to become.
The beauty of a mosaic is not found in the individual pieces but in the artist's vision that brings them together. In the same way, God sees a completed picture when all we see are fragments. The disappointments, detours, losses, and unanswered questions are not beyond His ability to redeem. When placed in His hands, even the broken pieces become part of a testimony that reflects His grace and glory.
Reflection: What area of your life are you still trying to control? What would it look like today to trust the Potter with the pieces and allow Him to shape them according to His purpose?
