Sacred Reparative Season
There are voices today telling us to forget our history, dismantle diversity, erase hard truths, and accept injustice as the price of peace.
We refuse.
Sacred Reparative Season is our declaration that truth cannot be legislated away, memory cannot be censored, and justice cannot be postponed forever.
This season calls us to reject despair and embrace disciplined hope. Our ancestors survived slavery, lynching, Jim Crow, racial terror, and countless efforts to erase Black humanity not because the road was easy, but because they believed that freedom belonged to generations they would never meet.
We are those generations.
Now it is our turn.
We honor our ancestors not only with remembrance, but with action:

Organize with courage.
Heal our communities.
Tell the truth.
Build solidarity across movements.
Demand reparative justice that restores people, communities, and democracy itself.

The struggle for reparations is about far more than compensation. It is about repairing the moral fabric of a nation and creating a future where every child can inherit dignity instead of division.
The winds may be harsh, but history has always belonged to those who refused to surrender.
Our ancestors planted seeds they never lived to harvest. We are living in their faith. The question is: What will we plant for those yet to come?
The season is sacred.
The work is holy.
The time is now.

June 19th is not a gift. It was never given. it was seized, survived, and sanctified by our ancestors.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom delayed is freedom denied and that Black people have always known this truth, long before America was willing to speak it.

Today we honor more than a date on a calendar. We honor the resilience, brilliance, and unbreakable spirit of Black people across every generation, those who bled for freedom they never lived to see, and those who are building it right now with their bare hands.

At the Truth Telling Project, we believe that truth-telling is an act of liberation. You cannot repair what you refuse to name. You cannot heal what you continue to hide. And you cannot build a future on a foundation of lies.
So today we say plainly:

Freedom was not given. It was fought for. History was not preserved. It was protected by those who refused to let it be erased. Justice is not symbolic. It is concrete and it includes reparations.

In 2026, Black excellence is not a hashtag. It is a living, breathing force in our neighborhoods, our classrooms, our art, our technology, our organizing, and our leadership. We stand on the shoulders of ancestors who transformed struggle into strength and hope into action.

We are the continuation of that work.
The Truth Telling Project and Community of Praxis remain committed to building a world where Black liberation is not a aspiration, it is the infrastructure of our daily lives.

Rapper Azealia Banks and rapper Cardi B shared sharply different reactions to the conviction of Karmelo Anthony, the 19-year-old found guilty of first-degree murder in the fatal April 2025 stabbing of Austin Metcalf.
