These nights are always SO special for us at Awakenings. Tonight, members of our Spring 2026 Cogenerational Cohort spoke to their family, friends, and loved ones about the art they created, the community they made, and the self discoveries they experienced during these past 9 weeks. 🎨

We are so grateful to have been able to share another Cohort with the world, and even more grateful to our Cohort members for showing up and sharing their creativity with us 💜

A BIG thank you to who made this Cohort possible. We are so grateful for their support in our mission 🦚

The Awakenings Cohort program is a 9-week healing art program where participants attend weekly art workshops that build on themes surrounding survivorship, healing, and reflection. This Spring, we brought together survivors aged 55+ and survivors aged 18-25 for a collaborative art-making experience that explores healing across generations from sexual violence.

At Awakenings, we believe that artmaking can be an extremely powerful tool for survivors of sexual violence to process and move through their emotions about trauma and healing. Our Cohort program strives to facilitate the opportunity for further healing and reflection, while also providing a space for community and belonging. 💜

Thank you for supporting us during Sexual Assault Awareness Month

As a survivor resource, Sexual Assault Awareness Month is a special time for us to build awareness and celebrate survivors, but that doesn’t mean the work is over.

Awakenings is a free survivor resource in operation 12 months a year, and you support allows us to continue. Thank you.

This month we have a lot going on!

This weekend Awakenings will be facilitating our Relief Printing workshop for survivors at the Trans Youth Summit, and invite you to join us!

Our public Re-Printing Memories workshop is taking place on May 12th, and is a masked workshop. RSVP or join the waitlist!

At the end of the month, we have our coveted Art Walk-lthrough for our Spring 2026 Cohort. Join us at the studio on May 28th as a celebration and reflection of the healing journey and the community our Cohort members have built through this program!

Lastly, we are now taking newsletter announcement requests! So if you have survivor events, opportunities, or would like to shout out a survivor-centered organization see the link in our bio for the request form!
