The Chicago Black Aldermatic Caucus foundation event is thrilled to award college scholarships to outstanding students.

8th WARD UPDATE ON STORM: As of this morning, ComEd has successfully restored power to nearly 15,000 residents in the 8th Ward. We are thankful to report that the number of affected residents has decreased to 92 as of noon on Sunday. While all but one street have been cleared for vehicle traffic, there are still some unique challenges in certain areas of our ward that I am actively addressing with ComEd and the city. The cleanup efforts are scheduled to begin on Monday morning, with the city deploying high lifts and dump trucks to remove storm debris.

The 8th Ward experienced the highest number of outages in the City of Chicago due to a significant storm. We had over 15,000 8th Ward residents without power and as of 5pm they are down to 3600 resident’s left to restore with over 24 ComEd crews working around the clock to get your power restored. Despite ComEd not being a city agency, ComEd's COO showed up today with me and walked the 8th Ward! Be patient, as the crews are diligently working to restore power as soon as possible! I will keep you posted.
