Every shaving is one step closer to these blocks of wood becoming a tool to make music. After planing peaks to the back braces, I will then gradually take material away from the ends of their top edge untill the back has the proper weight and deflection.

I've started a 42 style version of my Sullivan model. This is a take on the simple Martin 3 ring, 2 rings with abalone and a ivriod bound sound hole.

I had the absolute pleasure to have a few wonderful conversations with Bob Taylor . What a truely amazingly engaging person who is genuinely curious, involved and insightful. He gave a very inspiring speech at the .school.of.luthiery 50th anniversary celebration. Is no wonder how Taylor became a world wide respected company.

Last weekend I was honored to take part in the 50th anniversary celebration at .school.of.luthiery I am horrible at posting build updates. Although the instrument I built ended up being a huge struggle in multiple ways. I have decided to take the idea, make some design changes and tool up to build more harp guitars that are up to the quality of my standard instruments.

Being back at my school and around some inspirational people seems to have given me a renewed energy for my builds. I had a few wonderful conversations and as the pictures show the absolutely wonderful gave a stunning performance playing the harp guitar that I built.

This Harp Guitat is coming along nicely. The rim is assembled and prepped for the top and back plates. 50+ year air dried Honduran Rosewood, Sitka top, 19 3/8" body, 141/4" lower bout, 23.9" - 24.27" multi-scale, with 6 subs. I will be incorporating my Bevel Port along with a rib-rest, lap-rest and an arm-rest. There is a story that goes along with this build that I will be sharing shortly. Stay tuned.
