These beautifully designed radios showcase the golden age of Art Deco industrial design, where everyday technology became sculptural art. Streamlined curves, geometric grille patterns, rich wood veneers, Bakelite finishes, and symmetrical detailing reflect the era’s fascination with speed, luxury, and modern innovation. Each radio transforms functional electronics into a bold decorative statement from the 1930s machine age.

Today we remember LCPL Johnny Wayne Sitten of Rome, Georgia, who fell on this day in 1968. Johnny is remembered by his step-cousin, Glenda:

"Wayne was 4 months older than me we love him very much as teenagers Wayne would aggravate me a lot.in June he would be 77 years old 2025"

For all my Victorian era loving peeps out there - a pair of oak framed large cabinet doors with solid color ruby and cobalt smooth- faced cathedral glass accents top and bottom around patterned etched glass middles. The monogram middle piece which may or may not be original, broken in one can be easily replaced in both, as can the missing one square of cobalt blue.

Three cheers to the Town Board for unanimously declaring and dedicating the unmarked site located immediately north of Van Wyck Lake Road at U.S. Route 9 (in Fishkill, NY, pictured below) a Revolutionary War soldiers' burial ground! With the unanimous vote (5-0) cast last night, this official act puts to rest any claims that the parcel contains nothing more than a family plot or loose collection of human remains. Hip hip, huzzah!

Today we feature another house designed by local builder E. R. Bogardus, built in 1908 - 1909.
It is designed in the Shingle Style and features a large gable on the north and south elevations of the home with a semi-circular bay on the main floor. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
