PEOPLE OF CHICAGO
Earlier this year, the City of Chicago announced a new “Fresh Start” program for parking tickets!
For people doing a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, the City will figure
out a payment plan for the most recent tickets and agree to
forgive the old tickets.
The best part is these payment plans are tied in to your
income and are meant to be affordable.
These plans apply to parking tickets, red light violations,
camera tickets, and associated fines and penalties.
If your tickets are more than 3 years old, you may not have to
pay anything to the City.
If your license has been suspended or your car has been
booted or impounded, you now have a much better chance of
getting the license or the car back without having to pay a
huge sum of money.
Moving violations and seizures of cars are not eligible for the Fresh Start plan.
BillBusters handles Ch.7 Bankruptcy, Ch 13 Bankruptcy,

Bond reform at Cook County Jail succeeding -
Last winter, the number of inmates at Cook County Jail dropped to 5,500. This was a 30 year low.
Cook County has quietly led the way in pretrial justice reform.
In 2018, 10,000 fewer people were incarcerated in County Jail thanks to decreased use of cash bail.
These people are presumed innocent as a matter of law and have been able to
keep their jobs, homes, custody of their children and more while awaiting trial.
