The annual Pullman Scholar Symposium is almost here! We’re packing up, making final preparations, and getting excited for a great day! We can’t wait to reconnect with returning Pullman Scholars and welcome the newest members of the Pullman Scholar community.

Go, Vic, Go! Pullman Scholar Alumnus Vic Andrade is getting closer to joining us in Chicago at the Pullman Scholar Symposium next week after finishing his incredible journey! In case you missed it, Vic (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 1978) is in the midst of an amazing cross-country journey bicycling the legendary Route 66 from Santa Monica all the way to Chicago. Along the way, he’s raising awareness for the Pullman Educational Foundation by inviting family and friends to donate to the Foundation in his honor. Happy College Decision Day! Congratulations to all the high school seniors making this big decision! From the University of Southern California to Columbia University and everywhere in between, Pullman Scholars are thriving at colleges across the country, and we’re so excited to see where the newest class of Pullman Scholars will call home!

Our April Scholar Success Seminar was all about looking ahead to summer and how to make it count!

We explored how scholars can turn the summer months into a meaningful and productive experience, from finding exciting opportunities to marketing the skills they gain along the way. We’re excited to see how Pullman Scholars make the most of their summer—and we can’t wait to hear all about it!

Pullman Scholars continue to make the most of their spring semesters! Over Spring Break, Pullman Scholar Molly Sheahan, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign ’26, had the incredible opportunity to travel to Dublin with the Marching Illini to perform in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade! Way to go, Molly!

We were thrilled to host the National Scholarship Providers Association Chicago Regional Meeting at the Pullman Educational Foundation office yesterday!

It was a great day bringing scholarship providers together to exchange ideas, share best practices, and learn from one another. It strengthened connections that will help us better support and serve students across the Chicago area. We’re already looking forward to the next gathering!

Last month, our March Pullman Scholar Success Seminar focused on navigating the shifting job market. Current scholars were joined by two recent Pullman Scholar alumni to discuss the current job market, what they can do to stand out, what challenges they've had, and how to adapt to a rapidly changing professional landscape. It was a great discussion and a chance for Pullman Scholars to remember they are never navigating this journey alone!
