The day goes by fast and we are busy people. It's hard to find time to enjoy the moment, let alone spend time on yourselves. We become so caught up in the daily grind that we loose what is most fun about, well, living! This is how Ranka and I see ourselves... lots and lots of work, not a whole lot of play. We decided to take one night and have fun. We booked a hotel room on Michigan Ave and decided to go shopping during the day, have a wonderful dinner and then out at night for drinks and dancing. It sounded simple, relaxing and just what we needed, but it wasn't. Instead of relaxing...we found ourselves roaming Michigan Ave looking for evening outfits and tying to fit in a make up appointment and a professional blow out too. We ended up spending so much time making calls to find a hair stylist and, literally, running down Michigan Ave with all our bags and coffee in hand to finally make the hair appointments on time! Thank goodness we weren't in heels! We decided to do our own make up because there wasn't any available make up artist that evening. By the time we arrived to the hotel, we were exhausted... it was 9:00pm and we were each laying in our beds watching Braveheart. Yes, you read that right... Braveheart. What had happened to our relaxing evening, our wonderful dinner out?! We thought that if this happens to us.. this happens to other people too.The funny thing was... Ranka and I DID have fun running around and getting everything together for the night. So, with that... we started Styled by R & L to help people who need assistance for a night out, a wedding, a closet overhaul, going back to work, newly single, or just because. Let us do the running around for you! We know where to go and an amazing stylist to do your hair. Let us do the work, so that you can feel good about yourself and have fun! Do you find yourself passing over the jeans you just bought and grabbing your old faithfuls instead? You bought a dress for a party you haven't been invited to yet and there it hangs with the tags still on it, right? Join the club.
We have a closet full of pieces that weren't perfect when we bought them, but we keep them with the hopes that they will somehow become appropriate. We hold on to these pieces anyway because, well, we like them, but it's a little too baggy or too tight and somehow we can justify that as being a slight flaw. We think that we will need it in the future, but that day never happens. So, how can we make better choices when we are buying new pieces to add to our collection and how can we part with what's collecting dust?? Invest in your wardrobe. Invest in yourself.
