This Thanksgiving, let's come together to help cats and dogs in our community!

As we reflect on the many things we are grateful for - especially the pets who fill our homes with love - we are launching our SLAH/ESVC Pet Food Drive through December 31 to support families who are struggling to provide for their animal companions.

We are collecting:
- Small bags of dry dog/puppy & cat/kitten food
- Canned adult & kitten/puppy food
- Treats
- Bagged cat litter
- Cat scratching boards

As a special thank you to our clients, we will credit $1 for every pound of pet food and $5 for every bag of cat litter you donate to your account.

All Items will be donated to The Friendship Center to support local families and their pets.

🚨 Important Update: Leptospirosis Now a Core Vaccine for ALL Dogs
The 2022 AAHA Canine Vaccination Guidelines have been updated to classify the leptospirosis vaccine as CORE for all dogs starting at 12 weeks of age – regardless of lifestyle, location, or breed.
Why the change?
🌆 ALL dogs are at risk—urban, suburban, and rural.
⚠️ Potentially fatal, even with treatment.
🔄 Zoonotic—it can spread from pets to humans.
🏢 Dogs in daycare and kennels also face exposure risks.

Halloween Safety Tips: Nothing is scarier than when a pet runs away!

🎃While handing out treats, keep the escape artists away from the door.

👻If you plan on bringing your pet trick-or-treating, please have their tags/microchips updated and have them properly leashed.

✨Another safety tip for both your family and your pet is to ensure visibility, use reflective gear or light-up accessories to keep visible to cars and other people in the dark!
